Why is there a Free plan forever?

Splitting expenses with friends is how we meet you. Our revenue comes from self-employed users and small businesses who invoice — not from you. You're never the product.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in under 60 seconds right in the app. No phone call, no email, no reason required. Your subscription ends at the end of the current month and you keep access to all archived invoices and receipts.

How do GST and QST work?

Enter your GST and QST numbers once in settings. On every invoice, PivoPay applies the taxes automatically (5% and 9.975% in Quebec). At month end you generate a report ready to send to Revenu Québec or your accountant. See the Quebec sales-tax guide →

Do my friends need an account to pay me?

No, never. You invite them by text or email — they get the full breakdown of their share, with nothing to install or sign up for. For payment, they send you the amount by Interac from their banking app. Built-in Interac payment is coming soon.

Where is my data stored?

In Canada, per Quebec's Law 25. Your data is never resold or used for advertising. You can view or delete it anytime from the app.

What happens after the free trial?

At the end of the trial, you'll be asked to choose: continue with your paid plan, or cancel with no penalty. Zero surprise. If you don't like it, you leave.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, anytime. Switch from PivoPay Pro to PivoPay Enterprise in one click. If you downgrade (e.g., PivoPay Pro to Free), you get a credit for remaining days on your subscription.
